Keates Misses Out On One, Closing In On Another

|

Walsall boss Dean Keates has this morning confirmed that the Saddlers missed out on the loan signing of a centre half last week but is closing in on the permanent signing of another centre back.

Speaking to Express And Star Dean Keates said

“One of the centre-backs we were looking at was a loan but he has gone elsewhere.

“But there is another one I am looking at on a permanent and if I can pull that one off I will be delighted.”

Walsall are desperate for defensive reinforcements with only Jon Guthrie and Kory Roberts currently in the squad.

The Saddlers are very thin in numbers in other positions with the season set to kick off three weeks on Saturday.

A few Saddlers fans have already questioned the budget and rightly so considering we have lost big earners like Oztumer, Cuvelier and Jackson and replaced them with non-league players.

The squad is now calling out for players with league experience and hopefully Deano will address that in the next few weeks.
