Keates Misses Out On Targets With Season Closing In

|

Walsall boss Dean Keates has again revealed this morning that he missed out on numerous targets last week as the new football season is just around the corner.

The Saddlers have not made a new signing in over a month and with the squad still looking light manager Dean Keates hasn’t ruled out a move into the loan market.

So far this summer Keates has only been able to add Andy Cook (Tranmere), Josh Ginnelly (Tranmere), Chris Dunn (Wrexham) and Zeli Ismail (Bury) to his squad.

Speaking to Express And Star Keates said

“I’d like to think we’ll add a few bodies this week,”

“A few have not worked as we had hoped. One or two have not fallen our way. But that is part and parcel of the job.“

“There maybe a loan or two added but we’re still keen to add permanent signings.”

Walsall still have Tom Brewitt and Tomas Egert on trial. Egert played the full ninety-minutes during our pre season victory over Cheltenham at the weekend however he did give two penalties away. Brewitt was an unused substitute.
