L2 Preview: Who needs England?

Last week, I predicted Stockport vs Hartlepool would be game of the weekend, which would be full of incident and end-to-end attacking play. For the first time, I can gloat that I was right, as the game managed to give us six goals, a red card for Danny Wilson (Pool Manager) and two penalties (one converted and one missed). Exciting stuff! Let me glance into my crystal ball this week and select a game.

This weekend, there is not a game that stands out, as they all look as though they could go either way. Sunday is the best day, with Darlington, who are in good form at the moment, play record breaking Hartlepool, who are on their best unbeaten run in their history. Then, there is Lincoln, who have been full of goals this year and currently occupy a place in the top seven, who take on Swindon, managed by Paul Sturrock and are third behind yours truly. This is just one of two matches to be on Sky this weekend, as the other game is probably the biggest in an unbiased way. It is a game that matters the most to both clubs, as it could decide who stays where in the top seven. MK Dons vs Walsall. Lovely! They have put it on in the Super Sunday spot, mainly because it is an international break for Premiership clubs, but it shows how big the game is. As I said in my column yesterday, this game has the potential to be a cracker, as the Dons have former Walsall striker Clive Platt in their ranks, whereas we have renewed hope in Kevin Harper signing on loan until the end of the season, who has not lost a game in a Saddlers shirt this season.
