Earlier this week, I spoke with lower league guru Gabriel Sutton about all things League Two. We reached nearly an hour of chat that went into detail about a lot of topics, including Gabriel quizzing me about the Saddlers.
We spoke a lot about the financial state of the league, with the new salary cap, mixed with Covid (we did our best to avoid talking about it). The financial chat led into our thoughts on squad building and what we think clubs we will be doing to still be competitive, and fit with regulations.
At this stage of pre-season, it is tough for us to predict who will be fighting at the top, and who will be at the bottom, but we tried our best to talk about teams we think will will be in the mix at both ends of the table.
Gabriel asked me about a few Walsall topics to get more of an understanding about the Saddlers, and the changes I have seen in the year since we have had Leigh Pomlett at the helm.
