One question that has emerged in the last 24 hours is whether former Albion striker Lee Hughes will become the Saddlers fourth summer signing?

The 32-year-old, who has recently turned out for Oldham since his release from prison, is out of contract and is apparently on the radar of CH.

Hughes made 55 appearances in two years for the Latics, scoring 25 goals, which led to a mini-spell at Blackpool in the Championship, where he made a further three starts, scoring one goal.

Hughes is said to be in talks with Hutch after rejecting an approach from Notts County, as he would prefer a move to his native Midlands.

Also, former Blues winger Peter Till is on trial at the club following his release from former club Grimsby.

The 23-year-old, who is a natural wide-man and can also play as a striker, made a total of 65 appearances for Grimsby, scoring four goals.

With the first friendly of pre-season against Rotherham this Saturday, only time will tell whether he has enough to earn himself a contract, with a strict decision due because of a tight budget.

Although no name has been released, it is rumoured that CH also wants to improve the left back slot, with Sansara the only recognised player who can play in that position.
