Saddlers have a tough month ahead of them as the season gets really interesting.

They kick off in the FA Cup 2nd round on Saturday to Dagenham and Redbridge, but after that high flying Charlton Athletic (1st place) and Sheffield Wednesday (2nd place) await alongside bottom club Chesterfield. It will no doubt be a tough month against 1st and 2nd!

But what can Saddlers take from November and build on for the festive season?

. Use the youngsters

addlers have secured the services with contract extensions for Will Grigg, 20, Jamie Paterson,19, and hopefully George Bowerman, 20. Smith must especially allow Bowerman proper time on the pitch to build on his stunning two goals in November. Seeing three quality homegrown youngsters on the pitch will lift spirits and put a sense of pride back in the club.

2. Strengthen the midfield

oo many loose balls are dropping out of midfield, leaving some last ditch defending for the back four and the goalie. Thankfully we now have two quality goalkeepers for cover! We disappointingly lost loanee Mark Wilson but hopefully Smith can work his magic.

3. SHOOT!

am shocked to discover that Walsall had just 18 shots, both on and off target in November, compared to 47 opponent shots. That’s 63% less!! Walsall just need to get the balls in the box and at least in the direction of the goal. They need a bit more confidence and punch to their play and the rewards will soon follow after that. Please?!

December Awaits!

Up The Saddlers!
