Walsall have finally got their utility man with the signing of experienced midfielder come defender Gary Liddle.
Liddle has played over six hundred games during his career which started at Middlesbrough back in 2003.
After limited chances at Boro he joined Hartlepool where he played over two hundred and eighty times for them over a six year period. He was part of the Hartlepool side which narrowly missed out on the League 2 title in 2005 as Dean Keates last minute goal at Swindon won us the title.
Liddle then moved to Notts County in 2012 where he played eighty times for the Magpies and scooped their player of the year, managers player of the year and players player of the year awards for his performances in the 2012-13 season.
Following his departure from County he joined Bradford City, Chesterfield and then Carlisle.
He featured thirty-nine times for Carlisle last season before being released.
Liddle has scored thirty-two goals in his career and adds more experience to our young side.
Welcome to Walsall FC, Gary Liddle.
