Georgey boy scored a last ditch equaliser to cancel out Jamie Taylor`s chip and deny the Blue Square Premier side a Giant Killing.

Walsall were simply shocking and didn’t deserve a replay. Lincoln on the other hand looked like the team two divisions higher and had numerous chances to put the 1st Round tie to bed.

Alan Power hit the bar for Lincoln and David Grof had to pull some quality saves to keep Walsall into the game, although Grof could well be to blame for Lincoln’s opener.

The opening goal came on the stroke of half time as a Butler slip let through Jamie Taylot who lifted a delicate lob over the stranded David Grof.

The Imps grew in confidence as the lifeless Saddlers failed to register an effort on goal as Grof saved well from Taylor on 56 minutes.

With 5 minutes to go, Walsall sub Richard Taundry threw the ball long that found George Bowerman who salvaged a replay for lacklustre Walsall.

FT Lincoln City 1-1 Walsall

Walsall are just not playing with confidence like the first 10 games and a win is needed urgently! Lincoln should have won this game at a canter and Walsall can count themselves lucky to still be in the cup.

Walsall proved yet again that without Flo in the side we just lack any creativity and this is where Deano needs to strengthen by using the loan market.

A replay back at The Banks’s Stadium and possible tv cameras could spur the boys on but I’m just happy to still be in the cup draw tomorrow afternoon.
