On loan Man City striker, Jordy Hiwula has today thanked Walsall for the opportunity to play regular first team football and hopes he can stear them away from the League 1 trap door.

Speaking to the official site, Hiwula said ”I’m really enjoying it here and wanted to stay for the rest of the season. Scoring on my debut gave me the confidence to push on and I feel that I have built from there. I’ve not scored for a few weeks, but I’d like to think that I have continued to make a contribution.’

‘The style of play really suits me and I am happy to play through the middle or out wide. We are certainly creating chances and looking solid as a unit, all we need now is to start scoring goals and getting the wins that we deserve.’

‘We’ve got two home games in quick succession, so it is an opportunity for us,’ he said. ‘Fleetwood are a good team who have done well this season, but we are confident that we can get the points and start turning our performances into victories.’

Hiwula has scored four goals since joining on loan from Man City.

Walsall boss Dean Smith has already expressed his desire to keep Hiwula for next season.
