Manager Is Proud Of His Lions As They Roar To Another Win

|

Walsall boss Dean Keates has said he is proud of his side following our 2-1 victory over Rochdale this afternoon.

Todays result was our fourth victory on the trot and pushed the Saddlers to fourth in the League 1 table, five points clear of seventh place.

The Saddlers had to dig deep this afternoon with many saying the reds fought like lions and “we have our Walsall back” could be heard on the terraces by the 566 Saddlers fans that made the journey.

Dean Keates said

“I’ve said to the lads, I can’t be any more proud of them – of the workrate they give and the shift they have put in,”

“But the character again and the desire to arrive on things – if they didn’t arrive on the first one, they would arrive on the second one – it was brilliant.”

“There’s a togetherness in there and you saw that. We go on about clean sheets, we want a clean sheet and we are disappointed that we have conceded towards the end.”

The Saddlers now face Macclesfield in the second round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday before returning to League 1 action at home to Blackpool on Saturday.
