The Saddlers make a quick return to league action following Tuesdays 1-1 draw at MK Dons. Saddlers are hoping to end their twenty game run without keeping a clean sheet (in all competitions) and six games without a win.

Vital Quotes:

Whitney ‘”They are in a similar position to us,” said Whitney. “They play a three, similar to how MK Dons played the other night.

“They have got Andy Butler at the centre of that who we know really well. They have had a couple of good performances recently but overall have been a little bit indifferent.

“If you put a run of wins together you can find yourself on the brink of that top 10 and that is what we are aiming to do.’

Ferguson ‘”I think there is a big belief among everyone at the club,” said Ferguson. “I think we`ve got a lot of ability in our squad and I think we`ve got a lot of good players at this level. “But it`s the consistency we need to find. If we start getting that consistency then I`m sure we`ll go from strength to strength.”

Doncaster Team News:

Team news will appear here later

Player to watch: Andy Butler

Andy Butler – a leader amongst men. Buts doesn’t need any introduction, a Saddlers legend now playing for his hometown club. We struggle to make keepers work lately and with Butler in their side you know chances will be even slimmer. Given our poor record at set pieces also we know how good Buts is with his head.

Walsall Team News:

Saddlers have no fresh injury worries ahead of the trip. Will Whitney bingo spring surprises again? I would imagine Devlin returns now his birthday celebrations are over.

Player to watch: Amadou Bakayoko

Baka seems to have become a target for the boo boys and I still say it now he will come back to haunt us like Butler, Deeney, Grigg and to a certain extent Hawley did. He has the talent, he just needs a decent manager behind him.

Match Facts & Stats

Doncaster have lost their last five games against the Saddlers.

Our last meeting was in February 2016 where goals from Sam Mantom and Andy Taylor was enough to take all three points.

Ref Watch:

Match Prediction:

Given we have drawn the last three games 1-1 then if your’e a betting man you would stick a tenner on that result once more.
