Walsall have today signed former Northern Ireland Under 21 midfielder James McQuilkin on a one year deal.
McQuilkin a 24 year old, was a product of the West Bromwich Albion youth side but having found his first team oppurtunities limited he movedd to FC Fastav Zlin in Czech Republic. After 41 games and scoring eleven goals, McQuilkin was offered a route back into English football at Hereford United under Walsall assistant boss, Richard O’Kelly.
Having played 76 games for Hereford and scoring six goals, McQuilkin joined Kidderminster more recently on loan scoring one goal in three appearances.
McQuilkin then joined us on trial during our pre season and has impressed Dean Smith enough to be offered a one year deal.
