Nineteen year old midfielder David Davis has joined the Saddlers on a month long loan and is set to bandaid the injury crisis in midfield.

A former trainee a the centre of excellence at Walsall, he went on to Wolverhampton Wonderers and signed his professional contract there two years ago. He joined Darlington last season on loan and made 6 appearances.

He will provide welcome support in the midfield, in light of injuries to Steve Jones and Richard Taundry, who is set to be out for at least another month.

Speaking on the official website boss Hutchings said: ‘David is an energetic midfielder with bags of potential and we’re grateful to Mick McCarthy for allowing David to join us on loan.’

The addition is certainly a plus for the Saddlers, though I would have hoped for a player a little older with more proven experience in this league. As we look forward to Saturday’s game, hopefully we can see more of what he is about!
