Away days are back!

Last Saturdays 4-0 win over Hartlepool has certainly wetted the appetite more for our first away day of the season. Our away allocation was sold out in days, Newport have made another 200 tickets available and these can be purchased by contacting the ticket office.

Walsall head coach Michael Flynn and Assistant manager Wayne Hatswell will return to the club for the first time. Hopefully Flynn and Hats will get the reception they deserve after turning the Welsh club around.

TEAM NEWS

Walsall are still without long term absentees Conor Wilkinson, Liam Gordon, Oisin McEntee and former Newport captain Joss Labadie.

New signing Tom Knowles will probably have to settle for a place on the bench following his undisclosed move from Yeovil.

Newport have injury doubts over defenders Priestley Farquharson (what a name!) and former Walsall defender James Clarke. Former Walsall right back Cameron Norman is set to start.

FORM

Cant really go off one game but Newport endured a torrid home record towards the end of last season losing to Hartlepool, Exeter, Crawley, Colchester and Rochdale.

SELECTION

Both sides look set to go with 3-5-2. The Saddlers will surely remain unchanged from the side which demolished Hartlepool last weekend. Newport will decide whether to stick with Will Evans at LWB or to play Adam Lewis.

DANGERMEN

There can only be one man for Walsall. Danny Johnson after his hat-trick on his home debut last weekend. He is currently on loan from Mansfield Town.

For Newport it’s former Grimsby striker Omar Bogle who scored on his debut last weekend’s

PAST MEETINGS

Last season it was the late late show between both sides. Former Walsall defender James Clarke snatched victory in the 88th minute on our last visit to Rodney Parade, whilst Conor Wilkinson scored a “worldie” in the last minute to snatch a 3-3 draw at the newly named Poundland Bescot Stadium.

Both sides have faced each other sixty eight times- (most before 1987).

With the Saddlers winning twenty three, drawing eighteen and losing twenty seven.

Since 1987 we have faced Newport seven times, winning zero, drawing four and losing three.

VITAL PREDICTION

Newport 1-2 Walsall
