Paul Jewell and Chris Hutchings have reunited at Ipswich Town, as the ex Saddler manager takes up the assistant manager role.

Paul Jewell was awarded the manager’s job of the Tractor Boy’s last week after the sacking of Roy Keane.

The pair have gone way back as Hutchings was Jewell’s number two at Bradford City, Wigan and Derby County, with Hutchings taking over the manager’s role at Wigan and Bradford on Jewell’s departure. They creditably took Wigan and Bradford City to the premier league.

Chris Hutchings was sacked 2 weeks ago by Walsall with the Saddlers struggling at the bottom of league one.

It will no doubt cause some bitterness amongst Saddler fans who will be angry he has gone to a high profile club, with potentially more money despite leaving Walsall in such a mess. But, you never know what’s around the corner in the football world and it is rarely fair in a fan’s eyes!
