He may not have a pineapple on his head anymore but he is still head and shoulders above any other player in the eyes of those who follow the magpies. Striker Jason Lee will provide a major handful to our young defence, as was the case at Bescot earlier in the season. A tough character on the pitch he will do his upmost to ruffle our defence.

Jason has played for 14 different clubs starting out as a trainee at Charlton before moving to Lincoln, Southend and then Nottingham Forest where he really came into the public eye thanks to his haircut and the wit of Frank Skinner et al. Last season he was with Boston United before signing for County on the 16th June 2006.

This season he has been credited as the player who has given the most fouls away, which has seen him pick up 17 yellow cards so far this season although he has yet to see red. Although his main function is to create goals for others, Jason’s power in the air has led him to hit the net 16 times this season including a brace at old club Boston and another against them at home.

So in what is a bit of a Swan song for the veteran striker (36 in May). He will be doing his best to spoil Walsall’s promotion party, and gain the three points that will see play off chasing County close the three point gap between them and that all important 7th spot.
