Walsall right back James O’Connor has today said he has been left frustrated since being dropped from the starting eleven but feels he took his chance at MK Dons and is hoping to cement his place back in the squad.

Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk; O’Connor said “It`s been frustrating for me personally, but I am experienced enough to know that you have to react in the right way and be ready to step in when required.

“It`s important to be a positive presence around the place and keep the lads who are in the team on their toes. I feel that I have done that and now I want to show the Gaffer that I am worthy of keeping my place in the side.”

O’Connor and Purkiss will battle it out for the right back position when we face Coventry on Saturday.
