Walsall defender James O’Connor has today insisted Walsall must continue to plug away and not feel sorry for themselves following their sixth defeat in ten games.
O’Connor said ‘”There was a lot of anger and frustration after the game, but that team spirit and togetherness is still very much there, and we can`t lose that.’
“We`ve got eight big games to come where we`ll be doing the right things and continue plugging away.’
“There`s no way that we`re going to feel sorry for ourselves; we`ll continue battling and if we can add a bit of quality, which we know we are capable of, we`ll be able to push on.’
“It`s always nice to be out there playing. I`d like to think that I dealt with the disappointment of last weekend professionally and have responded in the right way.”
Walsall are now just three points above the relegation zone with some crucial fixtures coming up….the R word cannot happen surely?
