Walsall ‘keeper Richard O’Donnell still believes Walsall can make the League 1 play offs despite their recent dip in form.

Tuesday nights win over Yeovil saw the Saddlers close the gap on the top six to just five points however the Saddlers have one of the worst home forms in the division and are one of the lowest scorers.

Speaking to Expressandstar.com; O’Donnell said ‘We believe it is realistic. We still have 12 games left in the league so there are a lot of points left to be played for.’

“It is that tight, anyone in or around us will think with a decent run they can be up there – I have not seen a league like this for a long time.’

“Any of 10 teams, will be thinking they can get in. Why can`t it be us?’

“We are going to keep thinking we can get there. We have cut it back down to five points now, we are looking up and hopefully the win at Yeovil can be the start of a run for us.’

O’Donnell has kept eighteen clean sheets in league and cup this season and is favourite to scoop the play of the year award.
