Walsall head coach Sean O’Driscoll has today praised his sides level of performance and felt Saddlers should have been out of sight before their leveller.
O’Driscoll said ”I was really pleased with the level of performance’
‘We could have been out of sight in the first 10 minutes, but that’s football.
‘That was a different Crewe side to what you normally see, on a difficult pitch, going forward early and looking to play off the second balls.’
‘I thought defensively we were excellent, can’t really remember them having too many chances.’
‘Looking at their goal we maybe had one too many men in the wall and could have had another man back to help defend it.’
‘We were disappointed with the result obviously because we did more than enough to win the game but I was delighted with the level of performance once again.’
‘On a difficult pitch, on a cold day, against a Crewe team who looked to get the ball forward at every opportunity, I thought we were excellent.’
‘We started the second half fine, but from an organisation point I thought we only needed two men in the wall and would have had someone in the space that Brad Inman scored from.’
‘If you go two or three up it would have been extremely difficult for them but at 1-0 they always had a chance.’
