Walsall playmaker Erhun Oztumer has today missed out on League 2 player of the month for October.

Oztumer was on the shortlist however the award was given to Plymouth Argyle midfielder Graham Carey who scored all five of Plymouths goals in October to give them a fighting chance of exiting the relegation zone.

Oztumer scored three goals in October however his performances haven’t been of the highest quality which could have had an affect on the result.

The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises Sky Sports` EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan, League Managers` Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet EFL trader Mikey Mumford.

Oztumer is out of contract at the end of the season and it is looking very unlikely that he will sign a new deal.
