Former Walsall playmaker Erhun Oztumer had this evening took to Twitter to say thank you to everyone connected with Walsall FC following his move to Bolton.
Oztumer has signed a two year deal with Bolton with the option of a third should both parties choose to.
Oztumer finished top scorer for the Saddlers in the past two seasons and it was fitting that the man that carried such a poor side scored the goal which secured our League 1 safety last season.
We must remember that Jon Whitney did sign the “Turkish Messi” from Peterborough. Oztumer scored thirty-two goals in ninety-five appearances for the Saddlers.
Oztumers (non IPhone notes) statement on Twitter reads
I want to thank everyone from staff, players and the fans for the help guidance and support you have given me at my time at @WFCOfficial I’ve loved being a saddler and I wish the club the very best in the future #WalsallFC #saddlers pic.twitter.com/FXhXDHb7Ho

Oztumer deserved a shot at Championship level although Boltons style of play may limit his ability. However it allows Dean Keates to switch to 4-4-2 without having to cater for Oztumer – something that Whitney seemed to do whatever the cost.
Everyone at Vital Walsall wishes Erhun the best of luck in his career at Bolton and whatever the future holds for him.
