Jamie Paterson today joined Championship high fliers Nottingham Forest on a 3 year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The initial payment will be a six figure sum upfront with the deal rising to over a £1m with additional add on clauses.

Paterson came through the ranks at The Banks’s Stadium before making his debut in 2010 against Chesterfield in the Football League Trophy.

Last season Paterson topped the League 1 charts with most efforts on goal, scoring 13 goals in 51 appearances. Paterson went on to scoop his second successive Young Player Of The Year award.

In 94 games for Walsall, Paterson scored 15 goals.

Everyone at Vital Walsall genuinely wishes Jamie Paterson the best of luck for the future in a progressive career move..unlike the other two!

Jamie Paterson will become the next big thing to have come through the Walsall ranks following in Troy Deeney and Scott Dann’s footsteps.

Thanks for the memories!
