Peado back to Walsall

Following two seasons in the PFA team of the year in league two, one with us and one with Brentford. Ex Saddler Craig Pead has yet to sign a new contract with Brentford, and even a few days ago seemed certain to be heading to Fail Park, and was even announced as part of a joint defensive sign on the Port Fail offical site. Now things have changed.

Rumours have emerged that whilst Brentford want him to continue in London, Craig wants to move back to the Midlands…hence the Vale move. However a last minute phone call from our own Sun Tan Man expressing Walsalls interest made him want to ‘keep his options open’ is this just the silly season or is there some truth in the rumour who knows.

However his return would split the Saddlers camp as some fans would view it as a backward step, others have expressed that they don’t really know why he was released (answer is him and DD never saw eye to eye so I am told) and would welcome him back.

So if he did come back, where would he fit in, more than useful squad player been able to cover midfield or right back. However we have Rhys Weston at full back who has performed enough to be in the running for player of the season before been piped by Anthony Gerrard, so he won’t be first choice. It is the right back berth that has earnt him the respect of his peers although Craig has always said he believes his best position is as an attacking midfield player, but DD nor the Brentford management team saw it that way. So in short wait and see I suppose.
