Sky Sports ‘expert’ Peter Beagrie feels that Bristol City will have too much quality for Walsall this Sunday but hails ticket sales.

Speaking to Sky Sports Beagrie said ‘City are massive favourites to become the first club to win the competition three times since its conception and should win comfortably – if they perform to their max – by a two-goal margin, given the options Cotterill will have in his first XI and on the bench.’

‘Walsall must defend well to stand any chance as they are anything but prolific. All the pressure is on City and they have proven in the league this year that they have the temperament to handle it.’

Beagrie then hailed the ticket sales an incredible effort by both sets of fans ‘A crowd of over 75,000 is expected for the occasion. Bristol City sold all of their original 39,000 ticket allocation and have now sold 4,000 of the 5,000 issued due to the extra demand, while Walsall`s original 20,000 allocation was increased and they have sold 29,300 up to now.’

‘It’s an incredible effort from both sets of supporters, who are hoping to be basking in the Wembley glory on Sunday. With Club Wembley seats also to be used, this potentially could be a crowd second only to the one at El Clasico on Sunday evening – I rest my case!’

I have always got the impression that Beagrie never liked the Saddlers too much and given the amount of praise he’s handed to Bristol in his column confirms this….I just hope Deano uses these ‘expert’ previews to fire his side to victory – everyone loves an underdog!
