Peterborough Tried To Sign Oztumer In January

|

Last night, Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony admitted on Twitter that they tried to re-sign Walsall playmaker Erhun Oztumer in the January window.

Oztumer started his professional career with Peterborough but moved to the Saddlers in the summer of 2016 after falling out of favour at The Posh.

Oztumer scored fifteen goals for the Saddlers in all competitions last season but has gone on to better that by scoring seventeen in all competitions during this campaign.

Oztumer looks set to leave the club this summer after rejecting three offers from the Saddlers.

Oztumer signed off his Walsall career by scoring the goal which ensured our League 1 safety during our 1-1 draw with Bradford City – it was kind of fate that the man that has carried this team for two seasons would score the goal to clinch our safety.

Wherever he ends up I’m sure he will get the blessing of most Walsall fans for what he has achieved in a very poor side.
