Ben was also instrumental to the side which appeared at Wembley for the first time in the clubs history.

Purkiss began his career with Gainsborough Trinity before moving onto York, Oxford, Darlington and Hereford before moving to the Saddlers. He later moved to Port Vale and then onto Swindon Town.

Everyone at Vital Walsall welcomes Ben Purkiss back to the club, a man who will have the utmost respect from his peers and also will contribute a lot to the team both on and off the pitch.

VIVA BEN PURKISS.
