PFA chairman and former Saddlers defender Ben Purkiss has today agreed to join the Saddlers on non-contract terms whilst he returns from injury.
Purkiss has been out with a neck injury since last season and was released by Swindon last summer but will be a scout at the club and assist with coaching activities until he returns back from injury.
Purkiss has a wealth of experience having played over four hundred and fifty times during his career including seventh-eight appearances for the Saddlers between 2012 and 2015. Where he helped the Saddlers survive in League 1.
Ben was also instrumental to the side which appeared at Wembley for the first time in the clubs history.
Purkiss began his career with Gainsborough Trinity before moving onto York, Oxford, Darlington and Hereford before moving to the Saddlers. He later moved to Port Vale and then onto Swindon Town.
Everyone at Vital Walsall welcomes Ben Purkiss back to the club, a man who will have the utmost respect from his peers and also will contribute a lot to the team both on and off the pitch.
VIVA BEN PURKISS.
