Plymouth boss Derek Adams has today admitted he was surprised that Jake Jervis decided to join Luton despite the Saddlers agreeing to pay his but out clause of £125,000.

Speaking to BBC, Adams said ‘It looked like he was going to Walsall because they had also been able to match the offer as well, and he chose to go to Luton,’

‘It was his choice in the end and I think that Walsall have got to be disappointed because they thought they had their man.’

It would seem that Jervis decided in the eleventh hour that a move to League 2 Luton would seem more appealing than joining a club that is fighting a relegation battle.

Are you disappointed that we missed out on Jervis?

Given Jervis is a winger and only having Kieron Morris on board at the moment it does leave us very light on the flanks – perhaps we will revert back to 3-5-2?

Shows an ambition of intent from the Walsall board to part with £125,000 for a player whose contract was due to expire in the summer.
