Pope and Hope for Roberts

Roberts played twenty minutes against Rotherham and he looks relatively solid. Hutchings stresses that Roberts will be drifted in slowly but says that those twenty minutes will be exceptionally important psycologically for the former Rovers defender.

In other news I can’t help but report the remarkable case of Tom Pope – the man who scored for Rotherham against the Saddlers and is the Millers transfer breaking signing of the summer from Crewe was not on the team sheet to start the match. It seems that Pope turned up at Rotherham’s training ground Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium where he expected the match to played only to find he’d gone to the wrong ground……..oh dear. He did manage to finally arrive off course to nip in between Smith and Ince and lob the ball into our net – only if there had been traffic.
