Rochdale said hello to league one this season, and face the Saddlers at the Spotland tomorrow. (KO 30pm)

Coming third of league two last season, Rochdale have been introduced to this league with 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss. That is to the Walsall’s 2 wins and 3 losses.

The Saddlers will be without Richard Taundry (Knee,) Steve Jones (Ankle) and Alex Nicholls (serving the last of three match ban)

Good news though, that new midfield loan signing David Davis will likely go into the squad, alongside Darren Byfield who looks set to start up front.

Rochdale boss Keith Hill will have a full squad to choose from.

The Dale skipper Gary Jones must have done his homework into current Walsall affairs, and summed up the tie perfectly, when he told the Rochdale official website: ‘Times are good but we have to make sure we don’t get carried away.We have to keep focused, continue to learn and stay level-headed. Walsall will be another tough test despite their start to the season, they are a wounded animal right now, but as we all know wounded animals are dangerous.’

OK, so morale as a Saddler is low, and I am as frustrated as everyone else. But, it’s early days in the season and Walsall need to get more clinical up front. We are boosted by the return of Darren Byfield and hope he will start up front as he is fit, just back from injury and definite to come out all guns blazing.

Thinking positively, I am going for an almighty 3-1 Walsall win.

Come on the Saddlers!
