The Walsall Supporters Trust have confirmed that legendary ex Walsall manager Ray Graydon will be at our 125th anniversary game against his former club, Aston Villa.

Sir Ray needs no introduction to the Walsall or Villa fans following his history with both clubs.

Ray secured promotion to Division 1 with a low budget side – driven by hard work and determination. That Walsall side will always be a pivotal role model to the team we all desire to watch once more. Following our instant relegation the following season Ray vowed ‘We will come back’ and the following year we did! Its a season that will live long in the memory given our play-off final win against Reading.

Ray played for Aston Villa between 1971 and 1977 and scored 67 goals in 193 games, including the winning goal in the 1975 League Cup Final.

Ray was voted in the top 50 all time Villa greatest players.

We encourage as many Walsall and Aston Villa fans to turn up and show their appreciation to one of the greats of Midland football….There’s only one Ray Graydon!
