Reuben Reid, who came off the bench to score in the defeat against Swindon, has given the Saddlers his vote of confidence to turn their season around.

Walsall have now suffered four consecutive league defeats and are in need of a breakthrough as they seek to build on their tenth place finish of last season.

Reid declared that the talent is there and all they need is one good result and the points will flood in.

He told the official site: ‘People will talk about our run of defeats, but based on our performances, these results have not be warranted. The quality is certainly there within the squad and I feel that one result will turn things around for us.’

“The next few games are going to be key and you always set out to win every game but, in this period, out of the next five games we need to be taking a minimum of ten points.” he added to the Express and Star.

The 22 year old, on loan from West Bromwich Albion, put the Saddlers back into the game on Saturday against Swindon, his second goal this season.

Do you agree with Reid’s assessment? Do you think the striker should start on Saturday?
