Reports in Gloucester suggest Walsall are on the verge of signing transfer listed Cheltenham Town goalkeeper Owen Evans.

Goalkeeper Owen Evans re-joined Cheltenham on a permanent deal in June 2021.

The Newport born stopper moved to the club after leaving Wigan Athletic where he had been on the books since 2015.

In his time with the Latics he spent the second half of the 2018/19 season on loan with the Robins, helping the club reach the League Two play-off semi-finals.

His loan stint in Gloucestershire was one of many in his time at Wigan. He also spent time with Witton Albion, Rhyl, North Ferriby United, Sutton United and Macclesfield Town.

He has also represented Wales at under-19 and under-21 level, and also trained with the senior squad for the Dragons.
