Walsall FC have today announced that former loanee Jack Fitzwater has returned to the club on loan for the entire 2018/19 season.
Fitzwater arrives on loan from near neighbours West Bromwich Albion.
Fitzwater was pivotal in our survival from relegation last season and scored three important goals in sixteen appearances for the Saddlers.
Jon Guthrie and Jack Fitzwater established themselves in the heart of the Saddlers defence and built up a fantastic relationship.
Walsall boss Dean Keates wanted experience this season however due to issues outside of his control he had to settle for the next best thing – an established player who already knows the club.
It was expected that Fitzwater would provide cover to the Baggies back line this season but following the arrival of Kyle Bartley from Swansea his chances were limited.
Fitzwater had loan spells at Chesterfield, Hednesford and Forest Green Rovers before coming to WS1 but it was here where he established himself as a young defender with a very bright future.
Everyone at Vital Walsall welcomes Jack back to the club and we wish him the best of luck for his loan spell here.
