Rumour Mill – Two Players Linked

|

The season may have finished just two days ago but the rumour mill has already started with two players being linked with us.

According to a Torquay United fan on their fans forum – attacking midfielder Connor Lemonheigh-Evans is linked with a move here.

Attacking midfielder Lemonheigh-Evans has been in fine form this season scoring eleven goals in the National League. The former Welsh Under 21 scored ten goals in the previous campaign.

Lemonheigh-Evans started his career with Bristol City where he joined Bath and Torquay on loan before signing for the gulls permanently in  2020.

It is rumoured that current Walsall head coach Michael Flynn was a keen admirer of him whilst at Newport.

Another name linked with a move to the Saddlers is Carlisle United right back/midfielder Joe Riley.

Riley who started his career at Manchester United has had spells at Sheffield United and Bradford City before moving to Carlisle in 2020. Riley has scored five goals in the past two seasons and has been offered a new deal by Paul Simpson.

As always take these rumours with a pinch of salt but pre season is always the most exciting part of the year!
