Cook tops the Vanarama National Conference goal scoring charts with twenty seven goals this season. Cook also topped the charts last season with twenty three goals for Rovers.

In his last four seasons Cook has scored over twenty goals, totalling ninety seven goals in just one hundred and forty nine goals making him one of the most prolific strikers in England.

Cook started his career at Carlisle before moving on loan to Barrow in 2009. Cooks performances on loan at Barrow forced the club to sign him permanently in 2011 and he went on to score eighteen goals in sixteen games. Grimsby was his next port of call and he went on to score fourteen goals in nineteen games for the Mariners but after his contract expired he went back to Barrow and scored forty seven goals in sixty two games.

Tranmere identified him as the man to fire them back into the Football League and signed him in 2016. Cook went onto score twenty three goals for Rovers in his first season and scored twenty six goals this term.

Cook is out of contract with Tranmere this summer and despite being offered a deal by the newly promoted side it is understood he his monitoring his options.

Walsall boss Dean Keates will know about Cooks credentials having faced him numerous times in the past two seasons.

Andy Cook scored the first goal for Tranmere in their play off final victory over Boreham Wood last week.
