Saddlers after League two stars

Walsall have said that they are willing to look at league twos best players and ‘cherry pick’ some stars to boast Walsall’s fortunes next season.

Whilst this sounds promising will Jeff Bonser break his mold and start paying transfer fees, I think not. No matter how financially unstable other clubs are they will not let there star players go for free if they are under contract.

So that leaves either a change in Walsall’s transfer policy, or we will be looking to turn the heads of players who are out of contract in the summer. Of course next season we won’t have the restrictions of the wages cap. A lot of our players are out of contract so the balance of the squad can be altered, next season the team will be DD’s team even more so than this. Also it has been stated that DD had not spent all his allowed budget on players this season, will this money be carried over to next year, or perhaps used as signing on fees to attract these players. The last thing we can offer is a higher standard of football.

My views on this is I don’t expect a sudden influx of players from our fellow league two clubs. If they are out of contract we will face stiff competition and lets face it there are clubs who will out muscle our careful money minded chairman.

But for fun what other league two players would you like to see wear the Walsall shirt next year.
