Saddlers at war with each other

Troy Deeney’s outburst does not seem to be the end of the biligerent messages leaking from the Bescot’s walls.

Roy Whalley is now jumping on the band wagon, but targeting the protesting fans from the Wycombe game on Monday – nice one Roy, nothing like good PR!

Whalley went on record in the Express and Star as saying: “The people who were involved will not be coming in to the match on Saturday. They will be banned until further notice. It`s against ground regulations and we`re not prepared to sit back and allow it to happen. We have pictures of those who were involved.

“They want to stop and think about what they are trying to do. They are damaging the club and putting off good supporters.

“When you have people who do not want to listen it`s as if they have a hidden agenda. If we let them do what they want they will destroy the club and drive people away.”

Further to this, Martin O’Connor has joined in the argument by defending the Walsall fans, after their Bonser out and Hutch out posters and chants.

He said to the E&S: “I don`t mind it, for me it`s part and parcel of football. If people pay the money they have the right to say what they want to say.

“You can`t stop people shouting their opinion because that`s why they come to football, to watch their team winning.

“If they are not happy with what they are watching they have every right to say it. It`s how they do it obviously.

“You want to play perfect football like Arsenal and win every game but we`re not going to do it.

“If you get people heckling and shouting you have to deal with it, because it`s part and parcel of football.”

Not really what the management want to hear, but it is true!

Personally, the E&S has hit the nail on the head; we are not punching above our wait, or below it – we are punching at it.

The disputes and arguments will rage into the next game today against Tranmere, especially if the away side drive back to Wirral with three points.
