Walsall boss Martin O’Connor is adament that the Saddlers can go to Shrewsbury on Saturday and win….only if they produce the same display as they did against Peterborough last weekend.
“If we do produce our best form, we’ve got a chance of winning the game.”
Anything other than a Walsall win will see us relegated to League 2 for the first time in thirteen years and whilst most will be looking at the results at Valley Parade, Roots Hall and Home Park, O’Connor admits its about focusing on our own fixture before worrying about others.
Speaking to the official site, O’Connor said
“From our point of view, it’s about focusing on what we do and what we can affect,”
“We can’t affect other results.”
“All we can do is give it our best against Shrewsbury and hopefully the powers that be look upon us and give us another year in League One.”
O’Connor admitted that he told the players to go out and play with freedom against Peterborough and it worked, hes calling on the same for Shrewsbury and tells the players the shackles are off.
Shrewsbury Town have less than 800 tickets remaining for Saturday with the game set for a sell out.
