Saddler fans face a hefty 5161.2 miles, equal to 86 hours on the road travelling to and from away games next season.

Carlisle poses the furthest travel time for the Saddler faithful, with 185.6 miles one way to Northumberland from Walsall. Second furthest is Essex team Colchester with 172.2 miles and third is Exeter with 165.6.

Notts County is the shortest trip with 51.6 miles, with the roundtrip pretty much equal to the 105 miles one way to newly promoted Hertfordshire based Stevenage Town. Fellow promotee Chesterfield is also kind to the Saddler traveller with a 56.9 mile trip.

Over the course of the season, driving in a reasonable sized car it will cost approx £700 in petrol, £230 for refreshments (based on £10 per game) and £482 for single adult admission price tickets. That adds up to a whopping £1412 just for away games for the season.

It’s costly and time consuming for surem but there is something great in the journeys for away games, as well as the misery of a drizzerly motorway after a defeat. However, as last season showed, it’s all worth it!

Up The Saddlers!
