Following today’s story in the Express and Star that Morgan Ferrier decided to reject a move to League 1 rivals Southend United, despite an increased wage and a move closer to “home” its only right that we all support a player that wants to prove his worth here and give his all for the club!
For many years we have been THAT club which has been used as a stepping stone for others to move on, which is why a lot of us were originally cynical about the whole Ferrier and Southend situation.
At times players have moved up into the Championship and for those few you cannot question their motives, however those handful of players that have remained in League 1 for more money – has often left a sour taste for most supporters.
The fact we accepted the bid doesn’t sit right with me. If Keates wants him part of his long term plans surely we would have rejected the bid outright? However the lateness of the bid may have led to all kinds of chaos amongst the Saddlers hierarchy.
Ferrier has proved over the past twenty four hours that he wants to be here, he wants to rekindle that form from the start of the season that had supporters on the edge of their seats, and this deserves the highest praise, respect and support.
Our fans on Twitter have already began showing their admiration to Ferrier
Gotta give it to Ferrier for choosing to stay, when was the last time a player rejected a bigger money offer to stay at Walsall? Hopefully it can kickstart his season again as he has been disappointing for a good while now.

Big respect to Morgan Ferrier for turning down the move to Southend. Would’ve been easy to take the pay rise, the signing on fee, live in London and press the L1 reset button but if he thinks he can crack it here then I’m happy to give him 100% support whilst he tries. #CapDoffed

If there’s anyone I want to see have a cracking end to the season it’s Morgan.
Morgan Ferrier is a red!
