When people talk about the NHS they usually say that it does the job but could be better, thats talking medically of course. Unfortunately the same could be said about the other NHS…The National Hockey Stadium, home of MK Dons.

With it’s rather odd appearance we have to remember it is a Hockey stadia. As such it is fine, it is just that as a football ground it leaves a lot to be desired. Hence the forthcomming move to a new stadium.

The atmosphere should be as good as it gets since the game is a virtual sell out. The noise is mainly generated from the ‘Cow Shed’,………MOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Saddlers fans will be located at one side of the ground, in the North Stand, where up to 1,000 fans can be housed. Although the North Stand is all seated, it is uncovered so pray that it doesn’t rain.Especially as Umbrella’s are not allowed in the ground. Entrance to the ground is by ticket only, ( Read about ticket info CLICK HEREso away supporters arriving without tickets need to first purchase one from the small ticket office located at the South West corner of the stadium (at one side of the Main Stand going towards the away end). Please also note that the stadium is a no smoking one.

The stewarding has a reputation for been relaxed However the facilities inside aren’t great. One plus is the leg room and view from the away stand are good.

However they are taking the p*ss with the toilets. Since on each side of the away end there were blocks of portakabin type toilets (a cross between Blackpool and Stanley). So ladies free entertainment because the mens toilets seemed to have poorly designed entrances that allowed passers by to look directly in onto the urinals.

Refreshments were provided by two burger vans selling the usual array of burgers, hot dogs & chips and usual fayre.

Enjoy !!!
