The Saddlers have been given a much needed 2 days off after a mountain run of games which have seen them draw 4 and win 1 in just 2 weeks

The Saddlers have been given Tuesday and Wednesday off to refresh themselves after they struggled physically and emotionally through Saturday’s draw against Yeovil Town.

It has been a roller-coaster ride for fans and players alike as they secured jubilation and a place outside the relegation zone against Southampton two weeks ago. They could not maintain the smiles though with two draws and a defeat which left them back in the familiar territory of the relegation zone.

Manny Smith has given the Saddlers his backing for an unbeaten run to safety in the last 9 games of the season.

He told the Express and Star: ‘We can`t go to places and lose. We have to go out looking for three points but if we get one it could be the point that keeps us up at the end of the season….There are still games left and everyone is fit now and the belief is there.”

Smith praised the side’s teamwork as they got through the Yeovil tie, he added: “Everyone helped each other out in the last 15 minutes on Saturday when things were tough.”

To top the current Walsall unease the stadium owners, Suffolk Life, have put it up for sale. The implications of this are unknown at this point and only adds to the unclear situation the Saddlers have found themselves in.

Not long now until the Hartlepool home clash on Saturday, so lets hope the Saddlers will be a rejuvenated team after some time off.

Up The Saddlers!
