Walsall came off the back of last night`s FA Cup first round last gasp winner to SIGN a new loan player today!

Alan Halliday is a young but accomplished left winger from Scotland and signs from Middlesbrough.

The 20 year old started out at Rangers and then Livingston before moving to Middlesbrough in 2010. He made 44 appearances for The Lions and scored 15 goals, this earned him the accolade of Livingston`s Young Player of the year in 2010. After he moved to England with Boro, he has made 12 appearances and scored 1 goal, but he has been blighted by injury and arrives at the Banks`s on loan until January 7th.

Dean Smith said of the newbie: “‘This is an opportunity for him to come in and get games under his belt. He’s a determined lad and a great character who wants to do well here.” He told the official site.

He`s just getting fit again in a sought after position and with Bowerman and himself coming into the squad as goal-scorers, the future is looking a bit brighter for the Saddlers!

Up The Saddlers!
