WALSALL 1-2 BRIGHTON (L1)
It was the first game since the 2-2 draw with Leyton Orient on December 19th, so you could not say a lack of fitness was an issue.
However, whatever way you cut it, it was a loss and may prove to be a turning point in the season.
An early strike on eight minutes which saw Glen Murray lash home for the visitors.
Then, this seemed to spark the Saddlers into a bit of life, as a darting run and shot from Matty Richards slipped past the Albion keeper to make it 1-1 on 26 minutes.
It was a wonder strike from former Blues forward Nick Forster, who watched the ball carefully to smash home with an over-head kick on 37 minutes.
Pressure from Hutch’s men after half-time were to no avail, as Troy Deeney had an effort cleared off the line.
All in all, a bad day at the office!
