Sinclair Turned Down Offers To Join Walsall

|

Walsall boss Darrell Clarke has today revealed that new signing Stuart Sinclair turned down “numerous offers” to join the Saddlers.

Sinclair turned down offers to link back up with Darrell Clarke for the third time in his career.

Sinclair was instrumental to the Salisbury side which gained promotion from the Conference South in 2013 and again instrumental in the Rovers side which gained promotion from the Conference in 2015 and League 2 in 2016. Sinclair has also help stable Rovers in League 1 in 2017, 2018 and again this season. However new Rovers boss Graham Coughlan wanted a new direction for the club and released Sinclair this summer.

Clarke was obviously delighted to sign his first signing of the summer and believes Sinclair has all the attributes needed both on and off the field.

Speaking to the Official site, Clark said

“He’s a lad I know very, very well and he’s shared many a promotion with me. He’s the sort of personality and character we need to be bringing into the changing room. He knows how to get success out of League Two.”

“Not only does he bring on-field ability, he’s a great lad and we need a bit of leadership in the changing room, more so this season.”

“He ticks a lot of boxes and I’m delighted to have got him. He’s had plenty of offers on the table but I’m grateful he’s chosen to link up with myself and Walsall.”

Sinclair is hailed as a cult hero at Rovers and many Gas fans are already stating that we have signed a true fans favourite.

Sinclair will join the Saddlers on 1st July after his contract with Rovers comes to an end.
