Contract talks on Grigg and Brandy have gone quiet lately and obviously questions were being asked from the Walsall faithful.

For the first time in two weeks, Walsall broke their silence on contracts – as manager Dean Smith spoke to the Express & Star.

It makes positive reading…

Smith said “I have said to Will what I want to say and I want him to sign. Will has intimated to me he wants to sign so if they can get it sorted out then hopefully it will be done.”

He continued ‘he`d like to stay but everything has to be right. It`s in the hands of the chief executive and Will`s representatives’

Grigg became the first Walsall player in a decade to break the 20 goal a season barrier.

Regardless of what happens for the remainder of the season, the resigning of Will Grigg will give us confidence whichever league we find ourselves in.
