Walsall boss Dean Smith was today full of praise for his Walsall side after they demolished MK Dons yesterday.

Walsall ended Dons thirteen match unbeaten home run and also kept a clean sheet against a side who had previously scored thirteen goals in their last two home games.

Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk; Smith said ‘”Tactically we were outstanding,” he said. “I was a little disappointed that we only went in at the break one goal to the good, to be honest’

“It was an excellent performance throughout the team; the lads worked so hard and it was a great start for us. We felt that we could get in pockets of space, and that is how it panned out.

“To a man everyone did their job and we were delighted with another clean sheet’

Walsall now sit in twelfth place, just three points from the play offs and with the club just one tie from Wembley, it sets up 2015 very nicely indeed.
