Walsall Advertiser is reporting that Walsall boss Dean Smith is awaiting for David Moyes to return from his summer holiday before discussing the possibility of Sam Johnstone to return on a season long loan.
Johnstone was the only one of our loanees last season that wasn’t recalled by his parent club although the man that finalised the deal from United’s side, Eric Steele has since left the club following Sir Alex Ferguson’s decision to retire.
Smith has also reiterated that he is on the look out for a permanent ‘keeper aswell to provide competition for places.
Smith said ”It’s an avenue we might be looking to go down but I would like to get a permanent keeper too.
‘When Sam came here last season, that came through Eric Steele at Manchester United who has now left the club so I’ll be trying to get in touch with David Moyes but I believe he’s away for a couple of weeks.’
