Walsall boss Dean Smith has reiterated that he is trying to finish the long term project that he started and admitted it wont happen overnight.

Speaking to Radio WM, Smith said: ‘The season will pan out, but we have to make sure that we’re consistent in what we do, ‘We want to develop players, we want to develop a style of play, and we want to win games – that’s the most important.’

‘It’s not going to be overnight.’

‘I know for a fact that every time I go out, there’s three or four thousand people who think they can choose a better team.’

This statement shows that the club still back the under fire boss.

However the supporters patience is wearing thin and it remains to be seen whether Smith will be given the time to complete his project.
